Veterinarians
Mary Kinser, DVM & Owner
Dr. Kinser received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in 1999, and her veterinary degree from Michigan State University in 2005. In between undergraduate and veterinary school, she worked as a research assistant in a pharmacology and toxicology lab at Michigan State, where she met her husband, Shawn. What drew her to veterinary medicine was her love of science combined with her love of animals. The most rewarding part of being a veterinarian is helping people on a daily basis by keeping their pets healthy. Dr. Kinser and her husband have two kids, one dog, two cats, a horse, and several barn cats. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, camping, and spending time with family.
Sandra Shindorf, DVM, CVA, CVSMT
Dr. Shindorf earned her DVM in 2012 from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is certified in acupuncture and veterinary spinal manipulation/chiropractic. Dr. Shindorf grew up on a small family farm with a variety of animals and always enjoyed taking care of them. One of the biggest influences in her life was being involved in 4-H where she learned even more about animals. As a veterinarian, the most rewarding part of her career is working with owners to ensure their pets get the best care possible. She also enjoys the problem-solving aspect of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Shindorf and her husband, Chris, have a daughter and a son. In addition, they have a Greyhound named Paul and a Quarter horse named Tee. In her spare time, Dr. Shindorf enjoys jogging, horseback riding, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Laura Malik, DVM
Dr. Malik graduated with her DVM from MSU in 1998. Always learning, she still pursues continuing education in general medicine and dentistry. Dr. Malik can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to be a veterinarian; she took inspiration from a close relative who also happened to be a small animal veterinarian. She’s excited to be working in her hometown of Greenville, close to her family and friends. Dr. Malik’s family, which includes her husband and their three children, also shares the household with family members of the 4-legged variety: Bhaloo, a German Shepherd, and two cats, Jeri (the mafia cat) and Candy Patch. When she has free time, Dr. Malik can be found reading, hiking, rock climbing with her son, watching movies, crocheting, cooking, or practicing taekwondo.
